Isobel Fitz-Gerald

I was born in Durban, and grew up on a farm in Eston. I am the youngest of three and spent most of my growing up years alone as my two brothers went off to boarding school at a young age. Looking back I realize that I grew up in a male orientated environment, my mother often working as a man would.

I went to Girls High School in Pietermaritzburg also as a boarder and Matriculated in 1982 and studied accountancy further which led me to having office jobs most of my life. I married in 1986, and yes you guessed it….my husband was very similar to my father and being a farmer’s wife I worked like a man would too….I knew no better, that’s what my mother did so I naturally followed suit. In 1987 I was blessed with a daughter and a son in 1990.

My spiritual journey began in 2002 when a friend of mine introduced me to crystals, art and various other esoteric tools, and a month long detox and liver cleanse. I attended a Lymphatic Drainage Massage Course in this time…. I recall the first book she gave me to read was “The Celestine Prophecy”, the busy lifestyle that I had never permitted much time for myself so the journey was slow.

In 2010, I got divorced, I needed to grow and in that space there was just no way that would be possible and I had drifted apart from my husband. I then continued working in an office and for the next four years I smoked and drank excessive alcohol, partying at any opportunity, until 2014 when I had a very dissatisfying job, I was extremely unhappy and came across a Reiki Course on the internet and purchased it, not knowing a clue what Reiki was…sounded interesting.

With the Reiki course I purchased over the net, I was advised to be “Attuned” by a Reiki Master.

In November 2014, I was guided to Colleen Van Heerden and received my first Reiki treatment; I was hooked and received my Attunement four days later.

I received Level 2 Attunement in June 2005 and my Level 3/Masters Attunement on the 29 February 2016, and within hours received a call for an Attunement to Reiki, I have done several Attunements since and continue to do so, as well as Reiki treatments.

In May 2019 I decided to find something to compliment the Reiki and I was keen to learn something new and different so I attended a Kahuna Massage course, completing Levels 1, 2 and 3. In 2021 I completed level 4.
